The provision of management and creative support to independent artists and emerging theatre organisations enables a range of independent arts activity in Western Sydney.
UTP is able to provide management support for individuals and organisations through the provision of project coordination, advice and assistance. We will also consider auspicing grants where artists or organisations do not have administrative systems that are able to fulfil financial and legal obligations required by funding agencies.
Creative support is provided through a residency program that provides access to artistic support, UTP's rehearsal space and technical facilities.
UTP Support Program Aims & Objectives
In providing assistance to artists and organisations, priority will be given to proposals that support:
- The creation of distinctive, high quality new theatre works
- New approaches to performance making
- The development of contemporary theatre in Western Sydney
- Access to professional development and training opportunities for western Sydney artists
- Artists from diverse backgrounds
- Artists and/or projects that have a prior association with UTP
